Let's Try This Again.......

So many adventures (and mis-adventures) since I last wrote anything! I won't even attempt to comment on most of them. That free website never did happen. I eventually (months later) did actually hear back from my request for help..... but by then I figured out I was better off doing things on my own!

In March, Tom and I took a week off and went to Disneyland with our son's family. This was our very first ever trip to Disneyland.... can you believe it? ......... For both of us.

Here are a few photos taken during that memorable trip.

Before and after that trip, we have continued getting closer to knowing what we're doing with our Internet adventures. Let's just say we're finally taking steps in the right direction.

We also got smart and unsubscribed from a whole lot of the mailing lists we were on. It was kinda hard to cut off some of the people we considered to be "nice marketers". However, we realized that we would never have time to implement any strategies we were learning if we were spending all our time reading email messages!!!

So, the motto became "Keep Only the Very BEST".

First to go were the ones that primarily sent one offer after another, with no real content. That was the easy part. We would respect those people as "Internet Marketing Wannabes", but say goodbye to them.

But it got harder to whittle down the list even more. We had to start saying goodbye to some who DID send fairly good content. To help stay focused on this mission, I wrote myself a note. It read: "not necessarily bad, just not the most relevant to our needs". That helped. Now we can spend less time reading stuff that takes us away from our main focus.

What is our main focus? Hmmm... You would have to ask that.... It's still evolving a little (which is why we're so slow to actually get started, of course!)

Next time I'll share a little more of what we've been doing online. Most of it is still "behind the scenes", drafts of what will be going onto websites.

My most current adventure (brand new today) is the discovery of Clipmarks. This looks very promising! It's a tool that allows you to clip the best parts of web pages and save them. You can create your own searchable library of clips, and/or post the clips you find interesting to a public area for anyone to see. I also expect to use the "clip to blog" feature. This will let me share interesting clips from the Internet right here in this blog. Check it out with the link below.
